Lime-green Playdough

Today we made a batch of playdough, using a pack of jello in lieu of food coloring. I love this idea because not only is it cheaper than food coloring, but it makes a vibrant color with a scent (ours was lime).
Take a look around your kitchen and see what you can use to make different patterns and textures. We used a meat grinder, mini juicer, and a lego block with interesting results. We also found out that a garlic press can be used to make playdough-spaghetti (don't tell Cory!).
Find the recipe here. It involves a bit more elbow grease than non-cook clays, but the results are worth it! Don't skimp on the cream of tartar as it's the secret ingredient that makes the dough so pliable and smooth. The dough keeps well in a ziploc bag or other airtight container.
